Mumbai Indians (MI) emerged victorious against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in a thrilling match at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday, with debutant Corbin Bosch shining in both batting and bowling roles. MI cruised to a 54-run win, and it was Bosch’s sensational all-round performance that stole the show.
MI skipper Hardik Pandya praised the debutant’s fearless approach, which he said epitomized the team’s growing momentum in the ongoing IPL. Bosch contributed significantly with the bat, blasting 20 runs off just 10 balls at an impressive strike rate of 200. His cameo included two boundaries and a six. With the ball, Bosch proved to be equally effective, conceding only 26 runs in his four-over spell and picking up a crucial wicket.
Pandya highlighted the importance of the team’s collective efforts in securing the win. “The momentum which we had, we are carrying it forward. Everyone is clicking. The kids created the atmosphere for us, and we did it for them, so very glad. Everyone kept taking their chances. The way Bosch came in and smashed those sixes, everyone chipped in,” said Pandya in the post-match presentation.
Bosch brings a wealth of T20 experience, having played 86 matches and claiming 59 wickets, with a highest batting score of 81. His standout performances include being named Player of the Match in the 2014 U-19 World Cup final for South Africa, where he took 4/15. Bosch has also represented South Africa at the senior level and recently played a pivotal role in MI Cape Town’s SA20 title win, taking 11 wickets to secure the championship.
The impressive debut of Corbin Bosch added to Mumbai Indians’ growing momentum as they look to continue their winning streak in the competition.
