Tata Motors Gears Up to Launch 4 New Cars in India, Including Two EVs
Tata Motors is all set to make waves in the Indian automotive market in 2025 with four new vehicle launches, including two all-electric models and two internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. The move is aimed at reinforcing Tata’s dominance in both the EV space and traditional passenger vehicle segments.
Among these four, one model is being touted as Tata’s most important launch in recent years, expected to shake up one of the fastest-growing segments in the country.
Here’s a closer look at the upcoming launches:
1. Tata Harrier.ev
Slated to be India’s first pure-electric premium SUV, the Tata Harrier.ev will rival models like the upcoming Mahindra XUV.e9. While based on the ICE Harrier platform, this electric version will come in RWD and AWD configurations, with single-motor and dual-motor variants. The top-spec AWD version is expected to offer up to 275 kW (369 hp) and 500 Nm of torque.
Battery options may include a 60 kWh and a 75 kWh pack, the latter promising a driving range of around 500 km on a full charge.
2. Tata Altroz Facelift
With the original Altroz turning five, Tata Motors is working on a refreshed Altroz hatchback. While there will be no mechanical changes, the facelift will bring a sharper design with LED headlights and tail lamps, new alloy wheels, and a more premium dashboard. Inside, it will feature a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
3. Tata Sierra.ev
One of the most anticipated launches of the year, the Tata Sierra.ev will mark the return of an iconic nameplate. The EV version will feature a boxy yet futuristic design, wraparound glass panels, and 19-inch alloy wheels. It will aim to directly compete with the Hyundai Creta EV and offer a range of 450+ km, making it a practical yet stylish electric SUV.
4. Tata Sierra (ICE Variant)
Shortly after the electric version, Tata will launch the ICE version of the Sierra, targeting a more budget-conscious audience. It will carry over the same design as the EV but will come with conventional engine options, including a brand-new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine with 168 hp and 280 Nm of torque, possibly making it the most powerful in its segment.
With these launches, Tata Motors is aiming to strengthen its grip in both the electric and ICE car segments, while appealing to a broad spectrum of Indian consumers—from urban EV enthusiasts to traditional car buyers.
