Kushinagar Shock: Three Children From Same Family Die of Fever in 48 Hours, Health Dept Launches Emergency Probe

A tragic health crisis has unfolded in Uttar Pradesh’s Kushinagar district, where three children from the same family died within 48 hours after suffering from high fever. The alarming situation has triggered an emergency response from the health department.

Three Children Die in Rapid Succession

Officials said the deaths occurred in Gularhiya Tola village under the Nebua Naurangia block:

• Manju (7), daughter of Pintu Gaur, fell ill a week ago and died on Wednesday at the district hospital.
• Her younger sister Khushi (3) developed a severe fever soon after and died Friday morning at BRD Medical College, Gorakhpur.
• Their cousin Krishna (5), son of Pintu’s elder brother Dashrath, also developed fever and died on the way to Padrauna on Friday.

The medical cause of death has not yet been confirmed; reports are awaited.

Health Department on High Alert

Shockwaves spread through the health department, prompting authorities to rush a full medical team to the village.

Dr. Ranjan Kumar Maurya, in-charge of the local CHC, said the team has been stationed in the village for two days:

“The exact cause of the deaths will be known after the medical reports come,” he said.

Over 57 Children Screened

As a preventive measure, health officials have examined 57 children in the village so far, conducting tests for malaria, dengue, and other viral infections. Medicines were distributed wherever needed.

Disinfection & Awareness Drive

To prevent further spread of illness, the health department has:

• Sprayed bleaching powder and disinfectants
• Conducted cleanliness awareness in the village
• Advised residents to maintain hygiene and avoid stagnant water

The probe is ongoing, and authorities are monitoring the situation closely.
