- Pakistan Launches Diplomatic P ...

In response to India’s aggressive diplomatic campaign exposing Pakistan’s support for terrorism, Islamabad has dispatched PPP Chairman and former foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on a global tour to rally international backing. This move comes as tensions remain high following the recent Operation Sindoor conducted by India, targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Diplomatic Race Begins
Speaking to the press after a detailed briefing at Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bilawal said his delegation was briefed on multiple critical issues — including the India-Pakistan ceasefire, Kashmir, cross-border terrorism, and the Indus Waters Treaty, which remains suspended by New Delhi.
Bhutto warned that a nuclear standoff between India and Pakistan could have far-reaching consequences, a statement seen by many as hypocritical given past provocative rhetoric from leaders in his own coalition government.
Countering India’s ‘New Normal’ on Terror
Bhutto criticized India’s evolving doctrine on terrorism, referring to Prime Minister Modi’s assertion that “every act of terrorism will now be treated as an act of war.” He warned that this new policy could increase the risk of escalations between the two nuclear-armed nations.
He reiterated Pakistan’s usual narrative of being a “victim of terrorism” and emphasized the need for dialogue to resolve long-standing disputes related to Kashmir, terrorism, and water sharing.
🇮🇳 India’s Global Outreach in Motion
While Pakistan attempts to win diplomatic sympathy, India is moving assertively on the global front. Following Operation Sindoor on May 7, which targeted terror camps across the border, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has personally engaged global leaders to brief them on Pakistan’s role in harboring terrorists.
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri has also updated Indian political leaders and diplomats from multiple parties, urging them to strongly communicate India’s position abroad.
Starting May 21, 51-member delegations, including diplomats and MPs from across political lines, will visit 32 global capitals and the European Union, making India’s message loud and clear: zero tolerance for terrorism and an unrelenting stand on Pakistan’s terror networks.
Fragile Peace, Strategic Messaging
Both countries are engaging in simultaneous diplomatic offensives amid fragile peace at the Line of Control, following a four-day military escalation earlier this month.
While India seeks to isolate Pakistan diplomatically over its support for terrorism, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s government is urgently attempting to counter India’s growing influence in the international narrative.
The coming days will be critical as both nations present competing messages to the world—one rooted in security and justice, and the other in damage control.
