Bengaluru commuters heading to Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) may face delays today as traffic restrictions come into effect near Palace Grounds. The Karnataka State Women and Children Development Department is celebrating its golden jubilee at Krishna Vihar on November 27, prompting major diversions and road curbs from 7 AM to 4 PM.
The Bengaluru Traffic Police has advised passengers travelling to and from the airport to plan their journey well in advance.

Drivers travelling towards the airport must follow these alternative routes:
- Old High Grounds Junction → Old Udaya TV Junction → Cantonment Railway Station → Tannery Road → Nagavara
- From Yeshwantpur: Right at BEL Roundabout → Mathikere Road → Ring Road → KIA

- Left turn at Hebbal → Right at Nagavara Junction → Bamboo Bazaar → Queen’s Road
- Alternative: Hebbal Ring Road → Kuvempu Circle → Goraguntepalya Junction → Rajkumar Road → City

Authorities say these arrangements are intended to maintain smooth traffic flow around Palace Grounds and avoid congestion during the large-scale government event.

Shivakumar to reassess the city’s proposed tunnel road project, suggesting that priority should instead be given to improving public transport systems, including metro expansion and suburban rail.
In a related development, the Karnataka Energy Department is preparing to enhance the state’s EV charging network. The plan includes setting up charging stations along major highways to support long-distance electric vehicle travel and boost sustainable mobility.
