US President Donald Trump has issued a strong warning to Iran, urging its leadership to take negotiations with Washington more seriously as tensions between the two sides continue to escalate.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said that Iran must act quickly if it wants to reach an agreement, cautioning that delays could lead to irreversible consequences. He criticised Iranian negotiators, describing them as “unusual” in their approach, and claimed they were privately seeking a deal while publicly appearing hesitant.

Trump’s remarks come amid ongoing disagreements over a proposed ceasefire framework. Iranian officials have reportedly rejected a 15-point proposal put forward by the United States through diplomatic channels, stating that any resolution to the conflict would be determined on Iran’s own terms and timeline.

Tehran has also outlined a set of key conditions for any potential agreement. These include an immediate halt to what it describes as external aggression, firm guarantees to prevent future conflicts, and provisions for compensation and reparations related to damages caused during the hostilities.

Additionally, Iran has called for a comprehensive ceasefire across all regional fronts and has emphasised its position on maintaining sovereign control over the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian authorities reiterated that military operations would continue until their conditions are fully met, signalling a prolonged standoff despite international efforts to ease tensions.

The situation highlights the growing uncertainty around diplomatic efforts in the region, with both sides maintaining firm positions and leaving little room for immediate resolution.
