Actor Shoaib Ibrahim recently experienced an emotional blend of joy and relief as he attended his newborn nephew’s Aqeeqah ceremony while also updating fans on his wife Dipika Kakar’s recovery from liver cancer surgery.
In a heartfelt vlog shared on Eid Al-Adha, Shoaib revealed that Dipika’s surgery had been successful and that she was shifted from the ICU to a hospital room. He mentioned that she had started consuming a normal diet again and was on the road to recovery.
Meanwhile, Shoaib’s sister, Saba Ibrahim, along with her husband Sunny, shared the joyful moments of their baby’s Aqeeqah ceremony, a traditional Islamic ritual held on the seventh day after birth. Shoaib, now a proud “mamu,” made sure to be part of the ritual even though he could only stay briefly due to Dipika’s health.
The family also organized a Quran Khani at their home, with close relatives and cousins attending. Sunny arranged a generous biryani feast from their restaurant, served warmly to all the guests.
In their vlog, Saba and Sunny also documented their son’s first doctor’s visit, where Saba revealed they intentionally didn’t document her pregnancy journey. “We were very cautious about Nazar, so we didn’t shoot any memories during those months,” she explained.
Sunny noted that the Aqeeqah was deliberately performed before Dipika’s hospitalisation. “Bhai and Bhabhi were at home, so we made sure to do the ritual while they were still around,” he said.
Opening up about Dipika’s health, Saba shared that the family went through a very tense week. “Now that Bhabhi is out of the ICU, we are extremely thankful for your prayers,” she added.
Saba also mentioned her conversation with Dipika, saying, “She’s always been courageous. Talking to her gave us strength. Although this Eid isn’t very celebratory without Bhai and Bhabhi, it’s special because it’s our son’s first. We’ve had both a big joy and a big scare at the same time. We’ve kept things minimal for now and will celebrate grandly once the whole family is together again.”
This touching family update showcases the strength, resilience, and togetherness of the Ibrahim family as they navigate through both joyous and challenging moments.
