Ahead of his scheduled visit to China for the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the importance of India and China working together to ensure global economic stability.
Speaking to the Japanese daily Yomiuri Shimbun while attending the 15th India-Japan Annual Summit in Tokyo, Modi underlined that cooperation between New Delhi and Beijing holds significance not only for Asia but also for the broader international community.
“In the context of the current volatility in the world economy, it is crucial that India and China, as two major economies, collaborate to bring stability to the global order,” he said.
The remarks come at a time when global markets are witnessing turbulence due to an intensifying trade and tariff confrontation with the United States. Modi’s message signals a push for greater dialogue and coordination between Asia’s largest economies to counterbalance external economic disruptions.
