Ayodhya:
The ‘Surya Tilak’ ceremony at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, a symbolic sun-ray offering to Lord Ram on Ram Navami, was executed using the finalized version of a specially designed optical mechanism, a senior scientist from the Central Building Research Institute (CBRI) confirmed.
Installed on the third floor of the temple complex, the ‘Surya Tilak’ system is engineered to allow sunlight to directly fall on the idol of Ram Lalla’s forehead at a precise moment during Ram Navami celebrations. This intricate alignment of mirrors and lenses was refined over months of scientific work and was officially operational during this year’s event.
According to the CBRI scientist, the system underwent multiple rounds of calibration to ensure its accuracy and was designed to work annually without manual adjustment.
The ceremonial moment was witnessed by thousands of devotees, as the natural sunray created a visually divine “tilak” on the deity, marking a blend of tradition, devotion, and modern engineering.
