In a tragic accident on Old Airport Road near Murugeshpalya signal, a BMTC bus (335E) ran over two men and dragged them for over 50 meters around 10 PM on Wednesday.
Incident Details
- The victims, both in their twenties, included a pedestrian crossing the road after visiting a gym and a Rapido driver on a two-wheeler attempting a U-turn.
- The BMTC bus, traveling from Kempegowda Bus Station (Majestic) to Kadugodi, struck them head-on.
- Eyewitnesses reported that the bus driver and conductor fled the scene, leaving the vehicle abandoned in the middle of the road with passengers still inside.
Emergency Response
- Cab driver Balaji and other bystanders rushed to help, while an ambulance transported the victims to a nearby hospital.
- Jeevan Bima Nagar police inspector Nataraj, who had just completed his shift at the same location, quickly returned to the scene.
