- Pak Army Chief Asim Munir Says ...

Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, General Asim Munir, asserted that the country’s armed forces remain resolute and unshaken in the face of external threats. His statement came during a visit to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Rawalpindi, where he met with soldiers and civilians wounded in recent cross-border military confrontations with India.
According to a statement issued by the Pakistan Army, General Munir personally interacted with the injured, commended their bravery, and reiterated the armed forces’ commitment to their care, rehabilitation, and welfare.
“No hostile design can erode the determination of the Armed Forces of Pakistan,” General Munir said, adding that the nation stands firmly united behind its military. He highlighted that the collective response seen during Marka-e-Haq/Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, along with unwavering public support, marked a significant moment in Pakistan’s military history.
The backdrop to these developments includes India’s precision strikes under ‘Operation Sindoor’ on May 7, targeting terror infrastructure following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. In retaliation, Pakistan attempted strikes on Indian military positions from May 8 to 10. After days of heightened tension and aerial skirmishes, both countries reportedly reached an understanding to de-escalate the situation on May 11.
The visit by General Munir signals a move to reassure military morale and project unity amid one of the region’s most intense recent confrontations.
