Google to Empower AI Startups in India with New Accelerator Program

Google has unveiled a new initiative, the Google for Startups Accelerator: AI First, to support the growth of AI startups in India. This accelerator program, in collaboration with the MeitY Startup Hub, will focus on emerging startups working on Agentic AI and Multimodal AI, which are expected to be pivotal in shaping the future of artificial intelligence.

The program is aimed at Seed to Series A funded startups that are building AI-based products and models. Startups interested in applying for the accelerator can do so until June 30, 2025.

Key Benefits for Startups:

• Mentorship and Expert Guidance: Startups will receive one-on-one mentoring from Google experts and leaders from prominent teams like Google DeepMind, Google Cloud, and Google Health.
• Weekly Support: The accelerator will provide continuous support in areas such as product development, technology integration, and scaling strategies.
• Free Access to Google’s Tools: Selected startups will get access to Cloud TPUs, Cloud Credits (for eligible startups), and advanced AI tools like Google Gemini and Imagen.
• Direct Collaboration with AI Experts: Google’s AI specialists will work closely with startups to incorporate cutting-edge AI models into their products and services.

The accelerator has already demonstrated its impact in previous years, helping startups secure more than $61 million in funding. For example, SpotDraft enhanced its contract management platform using Google Gemini API, resulting in a remarkable 80% cost reduction. Similarly, Kroop AI improved its deepfake detection system, leading to a 40% boost in customer engagement.

The 2025 edition of the program will kick off with an intensive one-week bootcamp in Bengaluru in September, followed by a Demo Day in December, where participating startups will showcase their progress and innovations.
