Yusuff Ali M.A., Chairman of LuLu Group International, has expressed gratitude to Narendra Modi for facilitating uninterrupted food supplies from India to Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries amid the ongoing tensions in West Asia.

During a meeting held in New Delhi on March 26, Yusuff Ali briefed the Prime Minister on the group’s ongoing efforts to maintain consistent food supply across Gulf markets. Following the meeting, he shared on social media that he was “extremely thankful” for the government’s continued support in ensuring stability in food exports during a challenging geopolitical situation.

The discussions highlighted the importance of maintaining the availability of essential food products in GCC countries, where Indian food items are widely consumed by both expatriates and local populations. Strengthening supply chains and ensuring price stability were also key focus areas of the meeting.

LuLu Group revealed that it has successfully transported nearly 15,000 tonnes of food products, including both perishable and non-perishable items, from India to the Gulf region. This has been achieved through a combination of chartered flights, cargo shipments, and regular maritime logistics.

The company also noted that it has already operated 34 dedicated chartered flights to support the supply chain, with additional operations planned in the coming days to meet demand.

Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, LuLu Group International is a major retail and distribution network with a strong presence across the Middle East, Asia, and other global markets. With a workforce exceeding 65,000 employees, the group operates a vast network of hypermarkets, supermarkets, and shopping malls.

The company plays a crucial role in sourcing and distributing Indian food products across the Gulf, acting as a vital link in the India–GCC trade corridor, especially during times of global uncertainty.
