Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has strongly criticized Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for his remarks about Tamil Nadu MPs in the Lok Sabha. Pradhan’s comments, which were later withdrawn, sparked outrage, with Stalin questioning whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi endorsed such statements.
In a social media post, Stalin accused Pradhan of arrogance and demanded that he “mind his tongue.” He also accused the Union government of depriving Tamil Nadu of funds while disrespecting its representatives. “You, who have been deceiving [us] by not giving funds to Tamil Nadu, are calling our MPs uncivilized? You are insulting the people of Tamil Nadu. Does Prime Minister Narendra Modi approve of this?” Stalin wrote.
The controversy has further strained relations between the Tamil Nadu government and the Centre, with state leaders demanding an apology for the remarks.
