Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in Mauritius on Tuesday for a two-day State visit, marking his second trip to the island nation since 2015. He will be the Chief Guest at Mauritius’ National Day celebrations on March 12.

Mauritius, located in the western Indian Ocean, holds strategic significance for India, both geopolitically and culturally. Nearly 70% of its 1.2 million population is of Indian origin, strengthening historical and diplomatic ties between the two nations.
