Former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan has candidly shared the emotional weight he carries from being separated from his son, Zoravar, following his divorce from Aesha Mukherjee. In a moving interview with ANI, Dhawan revealed that he hasn’t seen his 11-year-old son in two years and hasn’t spoken to him in over a year.

Despite being blocked, Dhawan continues to send messages to his son every few days. “I don’t expect him to read them. It’s not about whether he sees them or not — it’s my responsibility to reach out. I’ll keep doing it,” he said.

Dhawan described how he leans on spirituality and meditation to stay emotionally connected with Zoravar. “I speak to him spiritually… through affirmations, I feel like I’m talking to him, hugging him. It helps me keep him close,” he shared.

The cricketer expressed that although his son is now 11, he’s only spent about two-and-a-half years with him in total. “When I sit in meditation, I imagine we’re together — playing, talking. That visualisation brings me peace,” he said.

Dhawan’s vulnerability has struck a chord with fans, many of whom have praised his strength and emotional honesty in the face of personal loss.
