OnePlus Announces OxygenOS 16 Rollout: See Which Devices Are Getting the Android 16 Update

OnePlus is once again ahead in the Android update race. While many smartphone users are still waiting for Android 15, OnePlus wrapped up its rollout by February 2025. Now, it’s already moving towards Android 16, with beta versions available for select models and a stable release expected by June 2025.

For OnePlus users eager to know if their devices are eligible for the OxygenOS 16 upgrade, here’s the confirmed list based on the company’s software update policy and release patterns.

OnePlus Devices Eligible for Android 16 (OxygenOS 16) Update:

Flagship Series:

• OnePlus 13
• OnePlus 13R
• OnePlus 13T
• OnePlus 12
• OnePlus 12R
• OnePlus 11
• OnePlus 11R

Nord Series:

• OnePlus Nord 4
• OnePlus Nord 3
• OnePlus Nord CE 4
• OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite

Foldables and Tablets:

• OnePlus Open
• OnePlus Pad
• OnePlus Pad 2

Note: Devices launching in 2025 with Android 15 out of the box will also be eligible for the Android 16 update.

If your OnePlus model isn’t listed, it might be time to consider upgrading to a newer device to access the latest features and improvements offered by Android 16.

OnePlus Software Update Policy:

OnePlus has made notable improvements to its software support in recent years. The flagship models, including the OnePlus 11, 12, and 13 series, are promised four major Android updates and five years of security patches. Earlier, the “R” variants like the 11R and 12R were limited to three Android updates, but starting with the OnePlus 13R, they now get four.

For the Nord series, the latest Nord 4 model will also receive four Android updates. However, older Nord CE models are set to receive two Android updates.

On the tablet side, the OnePlus Pad and Pad 2 will get three Android version updates, while the more budget-friendly Pad Go will only see one update.

While OnePlus is stepping up its update game, it still trails behind Samsung and Google, both of which now offer seven years of OS and security updates for their flagship devices.
