Zoom Restores Services After Widespread Global Outage

New Delhi: Video conferencing platform Zoom experienced a major global outage on Wednesday, affecting thousands of users across regions who reported issues accessing meetings, webinars, and core features on the platform.

According to real-time outage trackers and user complaints on social media, the disruption began around early afternoon IST and quickly escalated, impacting users in India, the United States, parts of Europe, and Southeast Asia. Many users were unable to start or join meetings, while others faced login errors and lag.

Zoom acknowledged the issue on its status page, stating that they were “investigating increased error rates” and were working to restore normal service. The company later confirmed that the issue had been resolved and services were fully restored.

“We have resolved the issue causing users to be unable to start and join Zoom Meetings,” Zoom said in its latest update. “We sincerely apologize for the disruption and thank users for their patience.”

The brief outage disrupted several online meetings, business operations, and remote work across sectors that rely heavily on Zoom’s video conferencing tools.

Zoom, which became a lifeline during the pandemic for virtual communication, has since remained a critical tool for enterprises, educational institutions, and governments around the world.
