Bengaluru: In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, the Karnataka government on Monday transferred V Anbukumar, the Managing Director of the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC). Anbukumar, a 2004-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, has been posted as Secretary of the Housing Department.

G Sathyavathi, who currently serves as the Managing Director of the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), has been assigned the additional responsibility of overseeing KSRTC operations. The government order has directed her to continue as BMTC MD while taking charge of KSRTC until further notice.

This development is part of a broader administrative adjustment in the transport sector, likely aimed at enhancing coordination and performance across Bengaluru’s critical public transportation agencies.

The reshuffle comes amid ongoing efforts to streamline public transport services and improve efficiency, especially as Bengaluru continues to grapple with urban mobility challenges.
