Chennai: Southern Railway is actively exploring routes for Kerala’s third Vande Bharat Express, aiming to enhance connectivity and meet growing passenger demand. The introduction of this new train comes in response to the heavy traffic observed on existing Vande Bharat routes during both morning and evening hours.

Railway officials are assessing viable routes, with a particular focus on optimizing infrastructure and increasing operational efficiency. The Mangaluru-Shoranur route is undergoing upgrades to support trains running at a maximum speed of 130 km/h, along with improvements in signaling systems to ensure smoother operations.

Authorities have confirmed that as railway infrastructure enhancements progress, the introduction of Kerala’s third Vande Bharat Express is imminent. This development is expected to significantly boost regional travel convenience and efficiency, further strengthening the state’s rail network.
