Empuraan Movie Review, Rating, and Box Office Updates: Prithviraj Sukumaran’s much-anticipated directorial venture Empuraan, featuring Mohanlal in the lead role, has finally hit theaters worldwide. The film has generated significant excitement among audiences, both in India and overseas, thanks to its well-crafted promotional campaign.
In a recent interview with SCREEN, director Prithviraj emphasized that Empuraan is more than just a spectacle, stating, “It’s a content-driven film with a deeply layered and coherent narrative. While the teaser and trailer highlighted the scale, visuals, and technical brilliance, the essence of the film is its storytelling. Without that, we wouldn’t have attempted something on this scale.”
Reprising their roles from Lucifer, the film stars Mohanlal, Prithviraj, Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, and Indrajith. It also features Abhimanyu Singh, Jerome Flynn, Eriq Ebouaney, and Suraj Venjaramoodu in key roles.
According to the makers, Empuraan has shattered records by becoming the first Malayalam film to gross over Rs 80 crore worldwide on its opening day. Additionally, the movie sold over a million tickets in advance bookings on BookMyShow.
Penned by Murali Gopy, Empuraan is jointly produced by Antony Perumbavoor and Gokulam Gopalan under the banners of Aashirvad Cinemas Pvt Ltd and Sree Gokulam Movies.
