Bengaluru: In a significant move to make airport travel more affordable, the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has introduced its first non-air-conditioned bus service from Shivajinagar to Kempegowda International Airport (KIA).

The new service, route number 293-AP, will operate through key localities including Hennur, Kannur, Bagalur, and Begur, catering especially to passengers who seek a budget-friendly option for airport commute.

A fleet of four buses will ply on this route, marking a shift from the usual premium Vayu Vajra (AC) services. With the rising demand for cost-effective public transport to the airport, BMTC’s move is expected to benefit daily commuters, airport staff, and budget-conscious flyers alike.

The launch also highlights BMTC’s efforts to expand and diversify airport connectivity, offering more options to the public across different fare ranges.

Stay tuned for further updates on schedule and frequency as the service gains momentum.
