The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms in various parts of Kerala, with a yellow alert specifically issued for Thiruvananthapuram district. According to the IMD, the region is likely to experience thunderstorms with lightning and strong winds reaching speeds of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour.

Residents are urged to take necessary precautions, especially as lightning activity is expected to intensify today and continue into tomorrow. The IMD has advised people to seek shelter immediately at the first sign of lightning or thunder and to avoid venturing outdoors during the storm period.
